Teaching interests

I have been actively involved in dental and medical education for 25 years. I develop, organise and deliver education and training at undergraduate and postgraduate level for dentists, dental health professionals and allied health professionals.
 I have a particular  interest in teaching related  to Oral Surgery, including simulated and hands on training ,  clinical guidelines related to Dentistry  and human factors related to patient safety 
Associate Dean NHSE South West  October 2021-present AD  for Professional Education Development and Support with the medical Deanery, leading on Quality Improvement by facilitating equitable access to QI training and support, and to encourage engagement with quality improvement projects by Doctors and Dentists in training  in the southwest region.
Lecturer HEE SW Dental 2002 to present  Design, organise and deliver study days including hands on Minor Oral Surgery, clinical guidelines, human factors for primary/secondary care dental practitioners, Foundation and PVLE Dentists and DCPs across the region

Masters in Clinical Education Dissertation 2013: To identify Foundation Dentist’s perceived confidence to perform a range of MOS procedures and explore influencing factors including experience and training.
