Biography

Biography

I have newly taken up post as a Lecturer in Cross-Cutting Themes at the Peninsular Medical School in June 2022. Immediately prior to this I was based from 2018-22 at the University of Nottingham, where I was first a Teaching Associate, then Assistant Professor in Biomedical Sciences - Social and Psychological Sciences and Ethics in the School of Medicine there. 

Qualifications

I I hold a PhD in Sociology, a Masters in Social Research, and a Masters in Social Work. I have a first degree in Modern History from many, many years back and prior to my return to academia in the early 2000s professional experience in the area of mental health as first a psychiatric nurse and subsequently a social worker as well as in the voluntary sector.

Member of National Committee of BeSST (Behavioural and Social Science Teaching in Medicine) network, and co-ordinate the BeSST Working Group on assessment
