Biography

Biography

I am a Research Fellow in the Medical Statistics group within the Faculty of Health, working alongside the Peninsula Clinical Trials Unit (PenCTU). I work as a statistician for the Down’s syndrome screening Quality Assurance Support Service (DQASS) and various clinical trials and observational studies.

I have been undertaking a PhD part time since October 2019 - improving the efficiency of modelling longitudinal physical activity data using compositional data analysis.

Qualifications

  • MSc Statistics with Medical Applications, University of Sheffield (2018)
  • BSc (Hons) Mathematics & Statistics, University of Plymouth (2014)

Professional membership

  • Fellow of the Royal Statistical Society (RSS)
  • CoDa-Association (compositional data modelling)
  • International Network of Time-Use Epidemiologists (INTUE)
I also hold a Graduate Statistician (GradStat) membership status with the Royal Statistical Society (2017).

Teaching

Teaching

Teaching interests

I assist with teaching on the evidence based practice (EBP) module on the Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (BMBS) undergraduate medical degree. I am also a BMBS academic tutor.

Research

Research

Research interests

  • Compositional data analysis
  • Modelling of longitudinal data
  • Multivariate statistics
  • Randomised controlled trials (RCTs)

In 2022, I was awarded Best young contribution for my oral presentation titled "Longitudinal compositional data analysis applied to accelerometry data over childhood and adolescence” at the 9th International Workshop on Compositional Data Analysis in Toulouse, France.
