Lecturer in Advanced Clinical Practice

School of Nursing and Midwifery (Faculty of Health)

I am an Advanced Clincial practitioner currently sharing my time between Emergency Medicine in ED at Treliske and teaching on the Advanced Practice Programme here at UoP. I sit on the RCN's ANP forum at a national level. I have recently achieved Fellow of the Higher education Academy status after completing my PGCert in Academic Practice.

I am currently lecturing on the Advanced Practice Programme within the Faculty of Health under the School of Nursing and Midwifery and I lead on the clinical assessment skills module APP710. I have a passion to drive forward clinical roles within nursing, para-medicine and other allied health professions to equip learners, who are experienced clinicians within their own right, with advanced consultation skills, decision making and diagnostic skills to help the progression of non-medical advanced practice within the NHS. I am still actively working in the NHS as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner in Emergency Medicine which ties in nicely with frameworks such as the RCN Advanced Clinical Practice credentialing service and the Royal College of Emergency Medicine (RCEM) ACP curriculum.
