Biography

Biography

A GP by background, I have become immersed in the world of Advance Clinical Practice for healthcare professional from a range of disciplines. Having worked in Primary care for many years, the evolution of advanced practice has been captivating and inspirational. I joined the university 2 years ago, to be part of the Advanced Professional Practice team, and this has enabled me to be part of delivering high quality education to aspiring advanced practitioners.

Integrating underpinning knowledge and science into clinical teaching is a great interest. I am absolutely devoted to equipping ACP students with the knowledge and skills to allow high level diagnostic with skill and confidence.

I consider myself lucky to be part of this evolution and feel that the knowledge and skills that I can bring to students form all backgrounds stands them in good stead for their ongoing careers.

As advanced practice evolves, I am pleased to say that we have been able to influence the provision of high quality clinical and theoretical learning to all students across the healthcare networks in the South West. Still working clinically allows me to remain contemporaneous and see the impact of the education being delivered.

I have a passion for networking and liaising with stakeholders, who will see the benefit of our students teaching and skills. As this extends throughout the South West, and across primary and secondary care, services have evolved to encompass advanced practitioners as part of a developing and critical workforce. I particular enjoy delivering CPD education to local training hubs facilitating ongoing learning for all practitioners, ensuring our graduates are equipped with the support and education they need to grow.
