About Claire

As the Dispensing Optician/Deputy Clinical Lead, I am responsible for the delivery and development of education and training and patient services from the Optometry Clinic (CEE with Plymouth University). Supervising and training optometry students and undertaking clinical activities in a comprehensive, customer focused, integrated and progressive manner. I am also a lecturer on dispensing across the 2nd and 3rd Years

Teaching

As a module teacher on the dispensing modules within the Optometry programme, I have a keen interest in ensuring the students have the theory and practical skills to enable them to dispense spectacles to any of their patients with confidence and skill.

I am particularly interested in both paediactric dispensing and other specialist services for children and young adults and Low Vision providing optical aids and advice to patients with vison loss.


I teach on the following modules:
OPT 505: Cliniclal Optometry Skills & Practice Management,  OPT 601: General Optometric Practice
