About Charles
Dr Charles Thornton, MBA, is a Lecturer in Service Operations Management and Business Strategy. He is an experienced academic who currently leads the BA (Hons) International Business Management and BA (Hons) Business Programmes at Plymouth Business School. Charles is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA) and a Certified Management and Business Educator (CMBE). He is a co-author of Lynch, R., Barish, O., Chau, V.S., Thornton, C. and Warner, K.S.R., 2024. Strategic Management. 10th Edition, Sage, an elected member of Plymouth University Senate, Treasurer of the British Academy of Management and a Director of Plymouth Social Enterprise Network. Prior to working in Higher Education, Charles had a career in banking.
