About Badr

Badr Moutikis a Ph.D. Candidate at the University of Plymouth's Materials and Structures Research Group. His research focuses on the life cycle assessment of luxury composite yacht manufacturing as part of an industrial Ph.D. studentship between Princess Yachts and the University of Plymouth. 
Prior to his academic pursuits, Badr held various roles in the maritime, shipping, ports, and logistics sectors, including Marine Engineering Officer, Technical Engineer, Maintenance Manager, and EHSQ Project Manager.
Badr also serves as a Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering Lecturer in Fleetwood nautical campus and as laboratory demonstrator at the University of Plymouth.
In 2021, Badr received the Maritime UK's Maritime Masters programme award for his research on "Carbon Negative Shipping for 2030" Develop a concept for a containership energy system that is carbon negative: Combination of Carbon Capture Technology and e-methanol.
