In the digital age, virtual connections often overshadow real ones, leading to increased loneliness and mental health issues. While platforms like Uber and Airbnb have thrived, time banking remains underutilised. Time4Good seeks to change this by allowing people to trade their time instead of  their money, aiming to build community and tackle social problems. Developed by a husband-and-wife team behind MadeOpen, Time4Good enlisted STRIDE’s expertise to bring their innovative app to life.
STRIDE has been instrumental in the development of Time4Good, providing essential support throughout the app’s journey. They began with a comprehensive strategy session that reviewed the Business Model Canvas (BMC), Minimum Viable Product (MVP), value proposition, customer journey, and revenue plan. This groundwork was crucial for Time4Good’s strategic direction.
STRIDE also assisted in designing and analysing surveys to ensure the app’s features and messaging aligned with user needs. They provided guidance on intellectual property, including trademarking, and offered legal support through a solicitor. A focus group of University of Plymouth students, facilitated by STRIDE, validated the app’s concept with valuable feedback.
To enhance Time4Good’s visibility, STRIDE referred the team to Sarah Holcombe for a social media marketing internship, improving their online presence. Market modelling was another area of support, helping Time4Good target initial users and expand to broader community groups. STRIDE also connected Time4Good with the University of Plymouth’s Micro Internship Programme, offering further assistance.
Ongoing business support during the MVP stages helped refine the app, while AI consultancy improved its trustworthiness by implementing a systematic trust monitoring process.
Time4Good exemplifies how innovative solutions, supported by comprehensive guidance, can address societal challenges. With STRIDE’s support, Time4Good is well-positioned to foster real-world connections and offer a viable alternative currency through time. From guitar lessons to gardening, Time4Good enables people to exchange skills and services, enhancing community engagement and personal support. Thanks to STRIDE’s assistance, Time4Good is on track to transform this groundbreaking idea into reality.

Working with STRIDE has been massive for Time4Good as an early stage start up. Looking back at our initial concept several months ago, it pales in comparison to our MVP that’s in rapid development now. Verity has helped us evolve the product to a point where we have customers on board and excited for launch.
