Training

The public engagement team launched a training programme for researchers and professional service staff on topics such as evaluation for engagement, high quality public engagement with research, developing public engagement plans within research proposals and more.
In addition to the training programme, the team can provide bespoke training to teams and faculties upon request.
The public engagement team have produced a short guide on developing public engagement within research proposals.

The Public Engagement Network (PEN) 

Training is available to those in the PEN network through meetings and external visitors.
PEN is an internal network for academic and professional service staff to do all that and more. PEN aims to create a platform for sharing ideas, receiving support from peers, and making our work more visible.

Events

The public engagement team collaborate with researchers, community partners, Higher Education Institutions, local government, social enterprises, and charities to deliver public engagement events.
We partner with the University of Bristol, the University of Bath, and the University of Exeter to deliver the FUTURES festival of discovery – a European Commission funded weekend of Public Engagement events as part of European Researcher’s Night.
