Community Hub Padlet

Padlet is an easy-to-use, online noticeboard where you can post and comment just like sticking notes on a wall—no login needed.
We’re using it to share updates, spark ideas, ask questions, and connect people working in the community with University researchers (and vice versa!). Whether you’re part of a grassroots group, charity, social enterprise, or University team, this is your space to collaborate.
Post about what you’re working on, what you’re looking for, or how you’d like to connect.

Explore research and find collaborators

The University of Plymouth’s Research Portal is an open platform where you can explore our research, discover expert profiles, and find potential partners for collaboration. It includes information on research projects, publications, datasets, and more.
To find researchers working locally, try searching simple terms like "local" or "community", or explore by area of expertise such as "pollution" or "business." You can also search by academic concept or filter by UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Connecting with the local community

Plymouth has a strong network of voluntary, community, and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations that are interested in collaboration with researchers, for positive local action. These networks have played a key role in shaping the Community Hub and can help you connect with the right people, from grassroots groups to established charities and social enterprises.

Join the Public Engagement Network

The Public Engagement Network (PEN) is open to all University of Plymouth staff interested in engaging communities with research. It’s a space to share ideas, get peer support, and stay up to date with opportunities and funding for public engagement.
As a member, you’ll receive event invites, updates, training opportunities and a newsletter with the latest public engagement news.
