The NIHR INSIGHT programme includes funding for a range of initiatives led by our student steering committee to provide information and support for early career professionals. This includes webinar and workshop series, taster days and an annual conference, with funding available to enable access to these events to support travel and accommodation costs or childcare costs as necessary.

Research Development Fund

Ringfenced funding is available to support researcher development and research activities such as funding for research training courses or the publication of a dissertation. Experienced researchers from the Universities of Plymouth and Exeter are available to help students choose appropriate research activities.

Accessibility costs

We acknowledge that we are in a cost-of-living crisis where, despite receiving a studentship, costs such as those for travel or childcare may take up a large proportion of the stipend and prohibit full engagement with the range of opportunities available. We have, therefore, set aside funds for every studentship student to apply for funds to support these costs.
