Santander staff support Brain Tumour Research in Plymouth

Local branches of Santander and charity Brain Tumour Research have entered into an exciting partnership to raise funds for ground-breaking and life-saving tumour research carried out at Plymouth University Peninsula Schools of Medicine and Dentistry.

Santander has pledged to match fund fundraising events.

As well as providing this generous support for fundraising events, Santander will also sell Brain Tumour Research pin badges from its branches in Plymouth and adopt the charity as its partner for its annual ball.

Brain Tumour Research funds medical research at four Centres of Excellence in the UK, which includes Plymouth University Peninsula School of Medicine and Dentistry. Scientists at the University are focussing investigations into this devastating disease, specifically on low-grade brain tumours. Their ground-breaking research is aimed at improving quality of life and survival rates for brain tumour patients, eventually leading to a cure.

Santander has chosen Brain Tumour Research to be its charity in Plymouth not only to support world-leading medical research in the city, but because members of staff have been personally touched by brain tumour – the best friend of an employee is currently battling with the condition.
