A successful bid for almost £300,000 of Government funding is enabling University of Plymouth students to study and work all over the world in 2023/24.
Grants via the Turing Scheme mean 47 undergraduates who have completed their second year of study and 57 who are on a work placement are heading to 33 countries on every continent except Antarctica.
They are on courses from 16 areas of our curriculum, including architecture, business, engineering, medicine, and psychology.
BSc (Hons) Maritime Business student Andreea Pampu hopes to head for the University of Tasmania, early next year, and says:

I am honestly grateful for this opportunity! The Turing Scheme grants really open a door for students to expand their perspectives and challenge new boundaries, giving them the necessary support to do so. Being part of this exchange programme could open new possibilities for my career prospects where not even the sky is the limit.

The Turing Scheme is the UK’s global programme for studying, working and living abroad, offering once-in-a-lifetime opportunities for personal and professional development for students.
The University of Plymouth’s latest bid to the scheme has netted £294,470, which is enabling 104 students – many of whom are from disadvantaged groups – to enjoy life-changing experiences.
