Role
I am module leader for STAT2401: Experimental Design and Analysis, STAT2402: Regression Modelling and STAT007: Statistics for Extended Science. I am also part of the lecturing team on ABF206: Quantitative Financial Modelling and EOE2204: Research Methods in Environmental Science. As well as my lecturing duties, I am currently the Programme Director in the School of Mathematics and Statistics and the Programme Manager for the Statistics awards. I serve on a number of School, Faculty and University committees.

B.Sc. (Hons) Mathematics (Applied Mathematics). University of Kent at Canterbury.


M.Sc. Statistics. University of Kent at Canterbury.


Ph.D. University of Bath. Thesis title: 'Optimal Group Sequential Tests'

 

Professional membership

I am a member of the Royal Statistical Society (RSS). I am currently the Secretary of the South West local group of the RSS.

 


Teaching interests
My teaching interests are very broad. I am currently a module leader on the Mathematics and Statistics degrees as well as on service modules in the Faculties of Science and Business and Social Science. I have also taught in the Medical School and to other Schools within my own Faculty. In total, I have taught across five faculties within the Univeristy and from foundation through to master level.

On two separate occasions I have been a university teaching fellow.

In 2002 I acted as a consultant on the e3an project, which involved producing a bank of multiple choice and short answer questions for electrical engineering students.
