School of Computing, Electronics and Mathematics

We have an excellent track record in teaching and research, alongside wider engagement with business and the community. Our expertise spans computing, electronics, mathematics, robotics and statistics, with a wide range of programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

School of Geography, Earth and Environmental Sciences

School of Health Professions

The School of Health Professions is the home of the most diverse provision for professional health and social care programmes in the UK. We have excellent programmes that feature in the top of the national league tables. We offer a unique inter-disciplinary learning environment and provide excellent skills and research laboratories, research-informed teaching, and stimulating practice placements.

School of Law, Criminology and Government

We are a multi-disciplinary and well-connected school with solid teaching and research strengths in law, criminology and criminal justice, policing, politics, international relations, sociology and social policy. Our primary objective is to provide our students with a quality learning experience both within and outside the taught curriculum, helping them to transform their lives and realise their ambitions.

We pride ourselves on the supportive environment we create for our students, whether in the classroom or outside, and particularly in partnership with our student societies.

School of Nursing and Midwifery

Our courses in the fields of adult, child and mental health nursing and in midwifery have been designed with our graduates’ career and the future needs of the health sector in mind.

We also offer further support for career and professional development in the areas of healthcare, surgical care practice, emergency care and general practice nursing. We work in partnership with local NHS trusts to drive forward clinical research and support our students in their learning.

School of Psychology

An international, cosmopolitan, and friendly department, we share our expertise and enthusiasm for psychology with over 800 students. We offer undergraduate and postgraduate courses, and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, all accredited by the British Psychological Society.

As one of the largest and best resourced psychology departments in the UK, we can cover all areas of psychology. Plymouth is in the top 20 of all UK universities in psychology, neuroscience and psychiatry with 83 per cent of our research output rated world-leading or internationally excellent by REF2014.
