Plymouth Young Contemporary Open 2016

Plymouth Young Contemporary Open is a bi-annual event, showcasing the incredible talent of local children and young people. Young People aged 4 – 30 are invited to submit work across all contemporary art genres including photography, installation, sculpture, performance, film and more.

Plymouth Young Contemporary Open (PYCO) is a partnership between Peninsula Arts at Plymouth University and Effervescent, with associated partners: Plymouth Culture, Radiant Gallery, Plymouth History Centre, Karst, Ocean Studios, Plymouth Arts Centre and Plymouth College of Art.

PYCO showcases new and up and coming creative talent of children and young people, across the city to explore and expand the aspirations of talented local young people, building confidence and inspiration.

We want children and young people to feel inspired by their peers and use PYCO as a tool to investigate ideas, discover new skills and explore collaboration. PYCO can also aid KS4/5 students in developing work to expand their portfolios, ready for higher/further education.

Plymouth Young Contemporary Open 2016 has now ended - see the winning entries in our gallery below. For more information about the next Plymouth Young Contemporary Open, due in 2018, please contact the Peninsula Arts Box Office.
