This page introduces other tools and features you will see as part of Office 365.

Yammer

Yammer is a private social network that helps you get connected to other members of the University and share information across groups. Only University co-workers can join, so your communications on Yammer are secure and visible only to people within our organisation. Yammer gives you the opportunity to join groups or topics relevant to your job or interests and activities. You can also follow co-workers and teams, and get their updates delivered right to your feed in real time.

Delve and your Profile Page

Delve helps you discover information that is relevant to you across Office 365. It shows you documents no matter where they are stored in OneDrive for Business or Plymouth University sites*.

What you see in Delve when  you start out will be very limited. When you and your colleagues view, edit and share documents Delve learns and displays tailored information for you on your personalised home page. Delve helps you find what is relevant to you.

As part of Office 365 you also get a profile page. You can also view your colleagues profile pages and edit your own. 

Please note Office 365 profile is separate from your Personal Professional Page.

A Delve app is also available for iOS and Android.

Sway

Sway is a digital storytelling app. It allows uses to combine text and media to create an online presentation. You can include content from OneDrive, images, YouTube and Facebook.

Class Notebook

As well as creating personal OneNote notebooks Office 365 provides an app for creating class notebooks for using with students. When you create a Class Notebook you get:

  • Student notebooks - this is a private notebook that is shared between the teacher and student.
  • Content Library - a notebook for teachers to share materials with students. This is read-only to students.
  • Collaboration space - a notebook for all students and teachers to share, organise and collaborate.

Teams

Office 365 Teams are chat based workspaces which allow you to collaborate with colleagues on meetings, notes and attachments. You can be a member of multiple teams, and create channels within teams to allow you to separate streams of conversation from each other.

You can even keep track of information kept in project management systems, such as Trello, Hootsuite and GitHub.

Teams has not yet been activated in Office 365.

Planner

Planner is an Office 365 tool that allows you to schedule and assign work and tasks to group members, and track progress to completion. It also integrates with other Office 365 apps like OneNote, Outlook and SharePoint.
