We provide wider specialist building and engineering professional support to the University in respect of legislative compliance such as asbestos management, confined spaces, legionella, lift safety, electrical safety and fire safety.
We also provide professional advice on Building and Engineering issues to faculties, professional services and various assurance committees. We maintain a detailed and comprehensive database of maintenance and compliance activities to enable us to properly manage and evidence our compliance arrangements.
The Building & Engineering division provides a contractor management process to ensure contractors working on the estate do so safely and to a high quality. As part of these management arrangements, the division operates in accordance with a Code of Practice for Management of Contractors, incorporating the Site Rules and Conditions.
