This degree and masters level module will further develop your specialised knowledge and skills in relation to the delivery and management of high dependency/critical care for children and their families in a range of settings.
You will build upon your existing knowledge and increase your critical understanding and application of current research and specialised practice and have the opportunity to attend presentations offered by experts in their field including: emergency care, pain management, burns, oncology, medicine and surgery. You will also have the opportunity to discuss your practice with and learn from other paediatric and adult practitioners caring for critically ill children in diverse settings.
The teaching of the module includes scenario based and active learning to help you develop clinical reasoning and you will spend your final day based in the Bristol Medical Simulation Centre which will enable you to apply skills in recognising and responding to the deteriorating child in a safe learning environment
