To register for your preferred CPD modules, please complete a Short Course application form

If you have already submitted an application form and are currently enrolled on the IMP, you may now register to attend up to two modules per academic term. Please complete an IMP Module Registration form.

Please note: the existing IMP was discontinued from May 2015. We are offering modules on the existing programme only for students enrolled prior to this date and within their five years registration. We are developing a new programme to which to bring this credit, replacing the current IMP. This is intended to launch in September 2016 building on our current strengths and providing some exciting new learning opportunities.

Modules listed below with the suffix PD are accredited for professional development and those with the suffix SC are non-accredited. All other modules are for our MA Education.

Semester 1 2015

The Early Years Foundation Stage: Providing appropriate opportunities

This module addresses key curriculum issues related to effective practice in the Early Years Foundation Stage. There will be critical analysis of the creation of enabling and enjoyable environments for babies and young children. In particular there will be an examination of the central place of relationships and personal, social and emotional development in young children’s lives and a critical consideration of the wide range of effective strategies which support young children’s participation in learning communities.

Semester 2 2016

Developing Leadership Skills in Early Childhood Settings

This module is intended to enable early years professionals with appropriate knowledge and skills to develop their theoretical understanding of efficient management and of effective, sensible and skilled leadership.
