Creative Cultivator at Plymouth University is excited to be a partner in ‘Cultivator’, a collaborative programme funded by European Structural and Investment Funds, Arts Council England and Cornwall Council.

Managed by Creative Kernow it is designed to drive growth across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly’s Creative Industries by boosting skills and capacity. Particular strands of work include skills development, bespoke support for graduate start-ups, exploration of new export markets, sector specific knowledge exchange and peer support programme and a business co-investment programme.

Creative Cultivator at Plymouth University will be leading on establishing sector specific Professional Peer Support Networks (PPSN) and Creative Industries conferences and supporting a range of showcase events.

The structure of the support combines external experts/thought leaders, academics and our Creative Industries Strategist, plus Creative Business Advisors from Creative Kernow, to provide support and advice to creative industries businesses in Cornwall in regards to business developments, investigation and exploitation of new markets and encouraging growth.

The scheme is designed to support four specific creative industries sub sectors over a 3 year period:

  • Digital and Design
  • Performance
  • Visual Arts and Crafts
  • Museums and Galleries
The first round of these PPSN will commence in February 2017 with selected digital and design and performance businesses, and will include initial 1:1 discussions and peer networking, plus visits to workspaces by the Cultivator PPSN team to review, immerse and understand individual business activities and needs.
