Have a go at watersports!
The UPSU Watersports Clubs and MGA have joined forces to give you the opportunity to try a range of amazing watersport activities, in partnership with the Mount Batten Watersports Centre. Not only will you be able to have a go at a new activity, you will also be raising money for the brilliant Derriford Children's Cancer Service and the volunteer run UPSU Watersports Clubs.
This event is open to Plymouth University students, staffs and the public over the age of ten. Activities available include: dinghy sailing, yachting, windsurfing, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, mega SUP and gig rowing.
There is no need to have any prior experience and all equipment, including wetsuits is provided.
All you need to bring is something to wear beneath your wetsuit, a towel and some shoes that can get wet. If you are yacht sailing or gig rowing you will need some shoes that can get wet and to dress according to the weather.
A 1.5 hour taster session costs £5 and you can try up to four activities over the course of the day.
For staff and students this cost includes return transport on the Mount Batten Ferry departing from the Barbican. If you're not sure how to get to the Mount Batten Ferry, our MGA volunteers will be on hand to show you the way from the SU.
There will be food and drink available for purchase at the Mount Batten Centre.
This one day event aims to highlight the amazing opportunities available to all. The UPSU watersports clubs will be on hand during the day to provide you with information about how to get involved on a regular basis.
