Students Live Week is a virtual event to hear from current students about their experiences at the University of Plymouth. Aimed at year 13 students looking to start university in September 2022, various sessions throughout the week give you the opportunity to speak directly to students about all things related to life in Plymouth.

From finding accommodation, making friends and discovering what lectures are really like, our students will be on hand to answer your questions.

  • Hear real, first-hand experiences from current students.
  • Gain genuine, honest insights into courses that you're interested in.
  • Ask all of your questions about what a student’s life is really like.
  • Find out if Plymouth could be right for you.
  • Chat with students on specific courses that you're interested in.

The virtual event will be delivered via a schedule of Zoom sessions taking place from 29 November to 2 December. Morning sessions will run from 09:00-11:00 GMT and afternoon sessions from 16:00-18:00 GMT. Please book your place via the above link.

The talks will be delivered by Zoom and we encourage you to dip into each date to view what's on offer, dependant on your interests. You can view the selections by clicking on each of the dates below.

Wednesday 1 December

School of Biological and Marine Sciences | 16:00–18:00

Equip yourself with the skills you need to make a positive impact on the sustainability of our environment and society. Current students will let you know how their studies are preparing them to tackle current and future environmental issues. Hear from students of Marine Biology, Ocean Sciences, Animal Behaviour and Welfare, Conservation and Biological Sciences, and Zoology who will let you know about their experience living and studying in Plymouth.

School of Computing, Engineering and Mathematics (Computing and Engineering only) | 09:00–11:00

Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Robotic Engineering and Computing students from the UK and abroad, will share the reasons they chose to study in Plymouth and their experiences so far. Hear honest insight in these sessions that allow you to find out what life as a student at the University of Plymouth is really like.

School of Computing, Engineering and Mathematics | 16:00–18:00 

Choose from engineering students talking about their disciplines of Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Robotics, the hands-on experience, practical skills and expertise they are gaining on their courses. Computing and Mathematics students will give you the low down on why they love problem solving and getting creative in their subjects. Hear from current students about what life is really like as a student at the University of Plymouth.

School of Geography, Earth and Environmental Sciences (Environmental Science only) | 09:00–11:00

Meet current environmental scientists that are also international students and find out why they have made Plymouth their home to study how they can make a difference on issues that really matter.

School of Geography, Earth and Environmental Sciences16:00–18:00

What is life like as a geographer, chemist, geologist or environmental scientist at the University of Plymouth? Hear first-hand from students about their experiences since they have arrived in Plymouth. Current students will let you know about living in Plymouth, their courses and social life and give helpful insights into what aspect of studying in Plymouth they really enjoy.

School of Health Professions | 16:00–18:00

The School of Health Professions offers a variety of degrees preparing you in becoming a confident healthcare practitioner, supporting each student to realise their dreams.
