Brain Tumour Research is an official charity partner of Plymouth University. We're one of four universities in the UK working with the charity to improve the treatment and outcomes of brain tumours.
Plymouth’s Centre of Excellence specialises in low-grade brain tumours, which are usually benign, slow-growing but ultimately can become malignant. Our focus is to identify and understand the mechanism underlying the development of brain tumours, and explore ways to halt or reverse that mechanism.
The research team works closely with clinicians at Plymouth Hospital NHS Trust, which is itself a regional centre for brain tumour treatment and care.
Following the laboratory tour and the adding of another tile to the Wall of Hope, we will be unveiling one of the donation boxes designed by our final year BA (Hons) 3D Design students, William Shaw and Mark Hedley.
William and Mark have been working on the project of creating five donation boxes for over five months and this event will showcase their creative journey and amazing work.
The boxes will be distributed around the campus to various venues such as the RLB café, Drake's Kitchen, Reservoir Café and the John Bull Building.
