Energy Security & Green InfrastructureTM Week is the UK's biggest green infrastructure conference for the energy economy. Taking place from 5–7 November, the event will feature experts sharing insight, and commentary from business leaders, academics, policy makers and solution providers.
"Britain needs to address future energy supplies to power our businesses, homes and transport, but we must provide this energy in a greener and more affordable form that is compatible with our transition and legal commitment to net zero. Society and nature demands net zero, while the UK needs secure energy supplies and much needed economic growth; green infrastructure can deliver both." Professor Christopher Fogwill , Executive Dean of the University's Faculty of Science and Engineering will be speaking at the session 'Unlocking Green Gas: Strategies for Achieving Net Zero in the UK' alongside the Rt Hon Chris Huhne, Chair of the Anaerobic Digestion and Bioresources Association, and Barnaby Wharton, Director of Future Electricity Systems at Renewable UK. The session on Tuesday 5 November will be chaired by Andy Walker.
Professor Fogwill will delve into the challenges of transitioning to a net zero future while leveraging existing gas infrastructure. He will explore how green gas vectors can facilitate decarbonisation across various sectors, enhancing circularity within waste streams and commercial by-products.
The discussion will be followed by a Q&A.
