University Mental Health Day is the national campaign to focus efforts on promoting the mental health of people who live, work and study in Higher Education settings.
Whether you’re a student or a member of staff, we all have a part to play to cultivate a positive mental health community at university.

To reduce stigma and discrimination, to raise awareness and understanding, to encourage people to access support... let’s talk about mental health.

International Student Advice (ISA) film screening (28 February)
University Mental Health Day is on 1 March but International Student Advice (ISA) has organised a film screening of 'Inside Out' on the day before starting at 19:00 in the Jill Craigie Cinema. This is a chance for all students to meet, relax and watch a movie together and is open to all who would like to attend. University Mental Health Day programme (1 March)
The day is focused in and around the SU. Stands and support services will be located within the SU from 10:00-15:00 including the Global Buddies Scheme, Peer Learning, and MGA and social sport activities information. Wellbeing videos will also be shown.
- 10:00-11:00 - Free yoga session (venue: Illusion, SU)
- 11:00-12:00 - Glowstick aerobics (venue: Nancy Astor Dance Studio)
- 11:15-12:15 - Mental health drop-in sessions (venue: meeting room in the SU)
- 11:15-13:45 - Volunteering - some information from the SU about the activities you can get involved in (venue: Illusion, SU)
- 13:00-14:00 - Quaker meeting (venue: Chaplaincy)
- 14:00-15:00 - Mindfulness drop-in session (venue: SU)
- 14:30-16:30 - City walk (venue: starting from the Chaplaincy). This will be a gentle walk open to all, taking in the four city parks (Central Park, Victoria Park, Devonport Park and Blockhouse Park).
- time tbc - Support services 'treasure hunt' using campus map (venue: starting from the SU Roof)
