Unicycle's Swap Shop is back!

  • Do you have a wardrobe full of old clothes you never wear or no longer fit properly?
  • Want to get yourself a new outfit the sustainable way?

Then get involved in our next Swap Shop in the SU!

Unicycle wants to help make our lives as students as sustainable as possible, for the planet and ourselves. We know it’s not always easy when money is tight and deadlines are fast approaching, however through our Swap Shop recycling clothes and caring for the environment has never been easier! Extending the active use of an item of clothing by just three months can lead to a 5-10% reduction in carbon, water AND waste footprints!

All you need to do is bring in any unwanted clothing into the SU on 20-23 November between 10:00-16:00. We will be collecting on the Illusion Stage.

In exchange for each item of clothing you’ll receive a token. These tokens can then be used on the day of the Swap Shop on Friday 24 November in exchange for new clothes! This means getting yourself new, practically free items of clothing in a sustainable way that helps the environment and your wallet!

In the UK alone, consumers have about £30 billion worth of clothes that they haven’t worn for over a year hanging in their wardrobes; this is a shocking figure highlighting just how much money we waste by being unsustainable in our shopping habits.

So, start your rebellion against society’s throwaway culture by donating your unwanted, unused or ill-fitting clothes and pick up something new and exciting in return!

...And for anyone who can't donate but still wants to get involved, we'll be selling items after 13:00, with all proceeds going to our chosen charity, Fashion Revolution.
