University researchers are invited to join the Sustainable Earth Institute and Plymouth City Council for an exploration of the Transforming Cities Fund.
Under the Department for Transport's Transforming Cities Fund (TCF), which is part of the government's Industrial Strategy, Plymouth City Council is bidding to receive around £100m of capital funding for the period 2020–23 to invest in the City.
The Sustainable Earth Institute has been engaging with Plymouth City Council on this programme, which encapsulates core themes such as air quality, sustainable access to employment, sustainable transport, new housing and sustainable access, transformation value through big data, and Improved productivity among others.
The Council is keen to explore with the University opportunities to improve innovation and creativity within the TCF. In particular the Council is receptive to allowing their delivery programme to be used as matched funding to lever additional resource for research and development.
This workshop is for University researchers to understand more about the TCF bid, meet representatives from the Council, and to explore how the University may add value to the programme.
