The first and last British shots of 'The War to End All Wars' were fired 50 metres apart in the Belgian village of Casteau, a coincidence of history which offers a poignant metaphor for the futility of a conflict that would claim the lives of 20 million people.

Peninsula Arts, in partnership with the Plymouth Historical Association, brings five years of events that explore the impact of the war and how its legacy has been shaped by literature, film, music, art and popular culture.
