'Tis the Season of Giving
  • The Hive, Students' Union, Plymouth University

Save event

A group from the Student Union's Feminist Society will be on campus collecting donations of food, clothes and toiletries to pass on to a local domestic violence charity for women and children this Christmas.

The collection is in support of Plymouth Refuge which aims to provide temporary crisis accommodation for families escaping domestic violence and abuse. The refuge, delivered as part of the Plymouth Domestic Abuse Service, offers support and advice designed to empower women and children to enable them to regain control of their lives and to move into successful independent living again in the community.

Feminist Society members will be based just outside the entrance to the Hive in the SU building. The refuge would be grateful to receive any of the following:

  • Tinned pies/meat
  • Tea bags / coffee / sugar / long life milk / hot chocolate
  • Biscuits
  • Shampoo / conditioner / deodorants / wet wipes / shower gel / toothpaste / toothbrushes
  • New towels / single bedding (preferably new or in nearly new condition)
