The SWHMS 2019 Annual Lecture, sponsored by the South West Maritime History Society and the University of Plymouth Marine Institute will be given by Paul Wright MNM MSc BSc Master Mariner FNI, Visiting Fellow - University of Plymouth Marine Institute.

Paul will provide a general overview of the development and importance of the UK mercantile marine, consider the post war changes including the decline of the UK merchant fleet, comment on present day developments and will look towards future opportunities. Where appropriate the lecture will be illustrated drawing on material from the South West of England.

The free lecture is open to all but booking is essential. Doors open at 18:45 for 19:00 start.
