The Threats to University Involvement in Initial Teacher Education
  • Room 018, Rolle Building, Plymouth University

Save event

This inaugural lecture will be given by Professor Peter Gilroy.

Over the last 30 years or so there has developed a concerted attack on university-led initial teacher education with research audits also threatening provision.

Professor Peter Gilroy will draw on his extensive experience working at national policy level through his previous role as chair of UCET and his own research activity to identify the ways in which university involvement in initial teacher education is being threatened.

He will argue that the threats this form of professional education faces are likely to be directed at reforming other forms of professional and practice-driven university-based education.

This event is open to all and starts at 5pm.

All are welcome. If you have any comments or queries about this event, please email artsresearch@plymouth.ac.uk.
