Lucy Simister from South Brent is the author of a biography titled Charles Babbage from the Beginning.

In this talk, Lucy will explore Babbage's Devon heritage, his working life and what inspired him to develop the computer. It will also cover his connection to the post office, coach design, seismography and Isambard Kingdom Brunel.

This event is open to all and can contribute towards your Continuing Professional Development (CPD) as part of the IET's CPD monitoring scheme.
