Join our experts for a dive into the wonders of our planet and learn how we can better care for it. From Arctic glaciers to the deep sea, test your knowledge with head-scratching rounds on geology, geography, biology, engineering, marine science and more. 
Hosted by Professor John Spicer, the question rounds will give you a peek into the global research our experts and scientists carry out that uncovers how our world works, the challenges it faces and the solutions being created for a more sustainable future.

This event is free to attend and will take place online over Zoom. It is informal and open to all; no prior knowledge is needed. Please book in advance and a joining link will be emailed to you before the event.

John’s research focuses on the innermost workings of marine organisms, in a quest to understand how they work and evolve in the wild and how they adapt to climate change. 
An eminent scientist renowned for his expertise in ocean acidification and hypoxia, John has contributed a substantial wealth of knowledge to the field over three decades, resulting in over 180 research papers, multiple academic books, writing for popular culture, and advising national and international policymakers.

FUTURES2022

Explore the past, create the present and imagine the future.
FUTURES2022 brought research to life in new and exciting ways online and in-person, with events from storytelling to panel discussions, tours, talks, quizzes, broadcasts and more. People of all ages were invited to join researchers from the world-class Universities of Plymouth, Exeter, Bristol, Bath and Bath Spa University to explore topics such as history, health, marine, robotics and the arts.
