Talk and music performance: The Ballad of Ewan McColl

Sam Richards and Mick Bramich

Ewan MacColl – singer, songwriter, radio artist, actor, playwright – would have been 100 in 2015. Some of his songs are amongst the 20th century’s best known – The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face, Dirty Old Town, The Travelling People. Sam Richards, improviser and composer, will discuss MacColl’s approaches to songwriting. He is joined by folk musician Mick Bramich on concertina, to sing songs performed or written by MacColl.
