A recent collaborative PedRIO research project at Plymouth University between the Centre for Sustainable Futures and Futures Entrepreneurship Centre found that the ‘languages’ and values of entrepreneurship and sustainability are often perceived to be contradictory and mutually exclusive.

In an attempt to start a more meaningful dialogue between the two fields, this seminar brings together academics and practitioners from both ‘educations’ to explore the potential for sustainability educators to learn from those within entrepreneurship, and vice versa.

We are delighted to welcome Dr Rita Klapper, Lecturer in Entrepreneurship from the University of Manchester, who will be talking about her latest research on values-based entrepreneurship and leading an interactive exercise around developing creativity – the most-cited student attribute by the entrepreneurship educators participating in the research but which receives far less attention in sustainability education.

In addition, this session will offer participants the opportunity to learn more about the work of both centres in the University and to engage in a wider discussion about how pedagogy can facilitate the development of the creative learner more broadly.
