Sidmouth Science Festival began in 2012 with a weekend of events and now stretches over ten days, becoming one of Sidmouth's most popular festivals.
The festival's purpose is to inform, inspire, promote and advance public education in science disciplines, showing how they impact on our everyday lives. With a focus on the STEM disciplines of science, technology, engineering and maths, the festival is open to all, with events and talks to suit all ages and interests.
Dr Alan Smith , Lecturer in Environmental Management at the University of Plymouth and Chair of the Royal Geographical Society South West Committee will give a presentation on his recent field work in Australia with the students from the University as part of the geology talks on Super Science Saturday (11:00–14:45, venue: All Saints Church, All Saints Road, Sidmouth EX10 8ES).
