Swim, kayak or stand-up paddle (SUP) and be part of this summer's biggest fundraising event for the environment when Plymouth hosts the Rockfish Blue Mile on the opening weekend of this year's Ocean City Festival.
The Rockfish Blue Mile Plymouth takes place just a stone’s throw away from the historic Mayflower Steps, where hundreds of people will take to the water in this mass-participation watersports event, now in its fifth year.
The programme of events kicks off with a series of 1,500m (1 mile) timed open water swim waves in a challenging tidal course from the Mayflower Steps to the Sound off Plymouth Hoe and back again.
There is also an aquatriathlon, a race where participants complete 750m in each of the three disciplines (swimming, SUP and kayaking), and a team challenge where the three members of a team each tackle one of these disciplines.
The SUP paddle and kayak events both feature sprint, 400m and 1,500m SUP races.
Registration is now open - visit the Blue Mile website to enter and/or to view the latest news.
Plymouth University is proud to be the Educational Partner for this event.
