Research ethics - an overview

This session will provide an overview of research ethics within and outside of the University.  

Facilitator: Angela Pellowe.

The workshop can be used as an introduction as well as a refresher course in this area, covering:

  • A brief background on governance, integrity and ethical issues in research. 
  • Different types of ethical review and where to find guidance for each. 
  • An overview of the processes involved in making an application to a university ethics committee and some faculty specific guidelines. 
  • Planning, what to consider in making a good ethics application and overcoming pitfalls.

The venue will be confirmed on booking. NB: a session may change nearer the time but attendees will be notified.
