Come and join us for a wonderful week of events celebrating the contribution of refugees to our society.

A welcome is offered to everyone to come and join in these events that are free to all, whether outdoor events or those facilitated during the week at various venues.

  • Saturday 16 June: Refugee Week launch event - Plymouth Hope Festival and Family Fun Day
  • Sunday 17 June: Calstock Trip and Fun Day
  • Monday 18 June: University of Plymouth - Access to Higher Education for Refugees (information on access to higher education, research and other work the University is doing)
  • Tuesday 19 June: Enterprising in Plymouth - Challenges and Opportunities (organised by the University's Futures Entrepreneurship Centre and Diversity Business Incubator, this workshop for refugees creatively explores responsible entrepreneurship and starting up small businesses)
  • Wednesday 20 June: Red Cross Welcome Day
  • Thursday 21 June: Devon and Cornwall Refugee Support Open Day
  • Thursday 21 June: Fire station visit and tour
  • Thursday 21 June: Community gardening and painting by Plymouth Refugee Communities Forum
  • Thursday 21 June: Theatre production of The Shroud Maker by acclaimed playwright featuring Julia Tarnoky
  • Friday 22 June: START (Students and Refugees Together) walk to Bovisand
  • Friday 22 June: Cultural Kitchen 'Open House' - closing event of Refugee Week
There will also be films on the Big Screen in Armada Way, Plymouth and exhibitions at The Box on the top floor of the House of Fraser, Plymouth throughout the week.
