Organised by the Plymouth University Women’s Network, this film screening and networking evening is open to University staff and their families, University students and Plymouth University Women's Network members. 

The Queen of Katwe depicts the life of Phiona Mutesi, a Ugandan girl living in a slum in Katwe who learns to play chess and becomes a Woman Candidate Master after her performances at World Chess Olympiads. Nominated for 17 awards and 2016 winner of awards from African-American Film Critics Association and Women Film Critics Circle Awards, the film was released on limited international distribution in 2016.
