About the Plymouth Manufacturers' Group

First formed 40 years ago in 1977, the PMG is an informal network of manufacturing companies from across the travel-to-work-area. At just under 12%, the city has the highest concentration of manufacturing and engineering employment of all large English cities south of the Midlands. The sector contributes £849m gross value added or ‘GVA’ into the local economy every year. That’s equivalent to 16% of the Plymouth economy, far greater than the national equivalent figure of 10%.
