César Franck: Symphony in D minor

The Belgian composer, best known as an organist and teacher, created this wonderfully colourful, romantic work in 1888 and it received its premiere at the Paris Conservatoire the following year.

Ever since the dawn of humanity, voice has always been our primary source for communication. This season’s music programme traverses the pure polyphony of Palestrina to 21st-century beat-box and electronic vocalise.
