Plymouth Tree Partnership meetings are aimed at increasing knowledge about trees and tree management, with speakers covering a wide range of topics.

The meetings allow time for questions and an opportunity to catch up on forthcoming events in green spaces in the city.

The meetings are open to all. Talks are free to Plymouth Tree Partnership members. Non-members are very welcome to attend but will be asked to pay £5 for each talk. The Babbage Building car park gives disabled access to the building - if the ground floor door is locked, please ring 01752 588400.

Contact the Plymouth Tree Partnership office for any queries on 01752 263186 (please leave a message and one of the office volunteers will get back to you).

Wednesday 11 October: Trees and the Mayflower 400 (speaker: Heather Barriball)

Heather has researched local trees with an American connection for a new tree trail to celebrate Mayflower 400 in 2020. She will present her work so far and then invite discussion on how best to mark this important event.

Wednesday 8 November: Plymouth's Newest Park (speaker: Chris Avent)

A new country park and city farm is being created below Derriford Hospital. Project Manager Chris Avent is going to explain why the new park and farm are needed, what it will look like and how it will work.
Wednesday 6 December: Folklore of British Trees (speaker: Dr Martin Blacher)
British trees are rich in folklore including oak, hazel, rowan, holly and elder. Martin will explore how the ideas arose and help us understand what we can learn from them today.
