PlymLit16 is a 12-day literature festival which includes events, venues and organisations from across the city of Plymouth. It will be an engaging and entertaining festival for adults and children that highlights local talent as well as bringing in authors from across the South West and further afield.

The festival programme will offer something for avid readers of novels, historical and sports books right through to writers of flash fiction, poetry and comedy.

Events are held across a number of venues including the Plymouth Athenaeum, Waterstones New George Street, the University of St Mark & St John, Plymouth Proprietary Library, Plymouth Arts Centre, Plymouth Methodist Central Hall and Plymouth University.

Supporting literature in the South West

Plymouth University is pleased to support events promoting literature in the city ahead of the Plymouth Festival of Words - organised with Literature Works, Plymouth City Council and supported by Arts Council England - which will take place in May 2017

The Plymouth Festival of Words will include headline acts, a rich community programme and – for the first time – the National Storytelling Gathering
