Join us for a debate on the security of online data sharing.
Plymouth University and the South West Branch of BCS, the
Chartered Institute for IT, come together to discuss online data sharing, based
upon the Santander Universities Digital Challenge winning student campaigns.
BSc(Hons) Computer and Information Security students from Plymouth University have recently developed their own security awareness campaigns as part of Santander Universities Digital Challenge 2016. The students will be presented with their prizes during the evening, and the winning group will then deliver a short demonstration of their online data security tool, which will form the basis of an awareness-raising campaign around the campus later in the year.
Then we will move to a panel discussion about online data sharing and how to protect yourself and your business. Sharing their views and answering questions will be Dr Shirley Atkinson and Paul Ferrier (Plymouth University), John Finch (Plymouth City Council) and Professor Omer Rana (Cardiff University). The panel will be moderated by Professor Steven Furnell (Plymouth University).
Light refreshments of tea, coffee and muffins will be served.
This event is jointly organised with the Institute of Information Security Professionals and is open to all.Register attendance via the Eventbrite webpage
