The 3rd Ocean Conversations event, hosted by the National Marine Aquarium, is an opportunity to learn how immersive technology can make us feel connected to the ocean by removing barriers that can be presented by accessing blue spaces.
Speakers from the University of Plymouth, Ocean Conservation Trust and The SHIPS project will engage you in how new technologies can help promote a deeper understanding of the ocean, as well as enrich people’s lives. You can immerse yourself in one of the technologies discussed: virtual reality! This is where you’ll submerge yourself in the NMA's stunning tanks and under the waves of Plymouth Sound National Marine Park.
Key speakers from the University of Plymouth are:
-
Leonie Cooper | Discussing the research from the GOALD (Generating Older Active Lives Digitally) project. -
Dr Rory Baxter | Presenting the upcoming work of the ICONIC (Intergenerational Codesign of Novel Technologies in Coastal Communities) project.
