Award-winning film producer and cultural entrepreneur, Denzil Monk, will illustrate essential processes to create, capture and share stories across digital platforms.

In this two-hour workshop, you will swift of mind and with great gusto co-create, produce and distribute a short piece of multiplatform narrative, throughout which Denzil will illustrate a profusion of digital storytelling practises, highlighting common techniques and essential processes to create, capture and share stories across a multitude of digital platforms and social media channels.

Denzil Monk


Denzil’s accomplishments include Mazed Tales, a geo-locative app, website and book of Cornish folk tales told through words and animated films, and bringing to life the Man Engine, the largest mechanical puppet ever constructed in Britain. Currently he is developing a UK-wide network of screening venues for arts and cultural content digital distributor Cinegi. He is an Associate Lecturer at the School of Film and Television at Falmouth University and a Bard of the Cornish Gorsedh.

Society for Storytelling

The Society for Storytelling was founded in 1993 to support and promote storytelling in England and Wales. They provide a central place to find out about storytelling events, to ask for advice on using storytelling, about workshops and guide aspiring storytellers through the practice.

Their annual Gathering welcomes professional, emerging and aspiring storytellers from across the UK for a weekend of storytelling, workshops, performances and more. The 2017 Gathering is taking place in Plymouth as part of the Plymouth Festival of Words.
