Plymouth University Orchestra performs a programme of popular classical music for orchestra and smaller wind, string and brass ensembles.

The Orchestra rehearses on Thursday evenings at the Sherwell Centre and comprises of Plymouth University students, staff and members of the local community. For more information about the Orchestra, email jonathan.hurdle@plymouth.ac.uk.

Visions Season - New and Mindful Visions

In ‘Mindful Visions’ the music programme has looked at the human psychology, connecting the sense of self to visions. The 1920s programme explores the Roaring Twenties when an new vision of post-war positivity was coming to the fore. This was eagerly demonstrated with new ideas in dance, music and songs – jazz music became the rage with its catchy rhythms and slick, sophisticated song lyrics.
